본 연구의 목적은 고등교육 국제화의 핵심 구성원이라고 볼 수 있는 재한 해외 유학생들 중 가장 수가 많은 중국 유학생의 한국 생활에서 겪는 사회문화적 갈등과 그들의 사회통합을 위한 여가 경험의 의미를 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구 대상은 연구 목적에 적합하다고 판단되는 한국에 거주 중인 중국 유학생 6명을 선정하여 심층 면담을 진행하였고, 비교분석법을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 사회통합 과정에서 나타난 사회문화적 갈등은 차별과 배제의 대상으로서 이방인, 정서적 욕구 결핍, 관계 맺기의 어려움으로 도출되었다. 또한 사회통합을 위한 여가경험의 의미는 사회적 포용으로서 상호문화이해, 사회적 치유로서 스트레스 대처, 사회적 연대와 결속으로서 지지체계 형성으로 구성되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 중국 유학생 유치 후 관리 체제의 기틀을 마련하고, 성공적인 유학생활 만족 및 중국 유학생의 사회통합 방안에 대한 기초자료로 활용 가능하다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
The objective of this study is to explore the sociocultural conflicts and meanings of leisure experience for social integration of Chinese international students who are the core members of the internationalization of high school in Korea. Conducting the in-depth interview with six selected Chinese international students residing in Korea as they were judged to be suitable for the objective of this study, data was analyzed by using the comparative analysis method. In the results of this study, such sociocultural conflicts shown in the process of social integration were drawn as stranger as an object of discrimination and exclusion, lack of emotional desire, and difficulty to establish relationships. Also, the meanings of leisure experience for social integration were composed of mutual understanding of culture as social engagement, coping with stress as social healing, and the formation of support system as social solidarity and unity. The significance of this study is to be used as basic data for establishing the basis of management system, satisfaction of successful life abroad, and measures of social integration of Chinese international students after attracting them.
