This study was to investigate the relation between the stress and the satisfaction of spectators who watch performances as leisure activities. Also, this article attempted to find which factors of emotional intelligence affect motivation of spectators. The results of this study were appeared as follows, the satisfaction of viewing performances reduces the stress of audiences. Self-emotional appraisal and other's emotional appraisal raised emotional motivation and rational motivation, and use of emotion made both of emotional and rational motivation high. This study investigated the process that the type of spectators according to individual emotional intelligence increases the satisfaction about performances and thus the satisfaction reduces the stress of them. Therefore, the present study suggests the production of various types of contents which raise the spectators' emotional satisfaction. And also, the implications of this study is that watching performances is expected to have a positive effect on the satisfaction and relieving the stress when pleasure, artistic and rational inquiry are performed in a balance. Therefore, this would be useful as an aspect of making performances including participatory contents and educational programs.
